U Mad? Wisdom and Activism for Rageful Times

  • pin InterIm CDA | Hirabayashi Place Donnie Chin Community Room 442 South Main Street Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

Please join us for a U Mad? Wisdom for Rageful Times training, an examiniation of transforming anger into spiritually based activism. This training is in partnership with Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Parisol, CASA Latina and API Chaya's Rapid Response Team.

We will be listening to a recorded talk by Venerable Prenz Sa-Ngoun on Buddhist Anger and Mindful Resistance. In our discussion, we will examine How do you personally reconcile view that people who work for prisons or ICE are doing what they think is right, with the other reality that their work does immeasurable harm to individuals, families and communities? What is your relationship with holding paradox, in general, and how has your dharma practice informed how you work with paradox?

We will close with planning using the BPF Block, Build, Be framework to identify if we are a Blocker, a Builder or a Be-er and how, together, we will work for the safety for those targeted by ICE.
