GenFest Track: Unlearning Caste Supremacy

  • TAF Bethday Comming Learning Space 605 Southwest 108th Street Seattle, WA, 98146 United States (map)

API Chaya is excited to bring Equality Labs to Seattle for their highly anticipated Unlearning Caste Supremacy Series! Based on the historic and groundbreaking Caste in the United States Report. They have developed an all day workshop designed to open up the difficult but necessary dialogues of caste privilege in our community, and how we can start dismantling it.

Space is limited. For location details, RSVP.

The workshop will introduce participants to the history of caste in the diaspora, train folks in identifying structures of caste privilege, and create collaborative co-learning spaces where communities can talk across caste and faith divides to start addressing caste oppression.

***There is a lot of interest for this workshop and we want to make sure that as many people who want to attend are able to do so. Please register ONLY if you are certain to attend the full day of training from 9:15 am - 5:15 pm. We understand that unexpected things happen that might impede participation. However, DO NOT register as a placeholder.***

This workshop is tailored for progressive South Asian and Indo-Carribean communities, who want to work to be allies to caste oppressed Americans. We are a liberatory space for caste oppressed immigrants who want to learn more about their history.
