Gala Announcement

Dear API Chaya Community,

You are the heart of this work, and we want you to hear this from us first. Our structures have been failing for some time. Now is not new! And at the same time, survivor self determination, survivor adaptability, survivor mutual aid, survivor creativity, and so much more has been in our communities and ancestry since forever.

In a time of instability, we are choosing not to concentrate our energy and resources into a one night event. With that, we have decided to cancel this year's gala. 

We are navigating a significant loss of federal funding, and we are committed to using our resources in ways that sustain our mission and our community for the long haul.

We are not done celebrating, though! We invite you to join us for our Fearless Dance Party happening June 5th at the Rooftop at Railspur. Our dance party is centering joy, resilience, and collective care. This gathering will center our vision of community and focus on growing our base of sustaining gifts because we know that lasting change is built through ongoing commitment and not just a single moment.
